We were approached by the owners of Mr Sprout’s award-winning Play Barn at Millets Farm Centre to provide them with a renewable energy solution to aid with their ever-increasing electricity costs. Due to its various elevations and pitches, the large but relatively complex roof design gave us an excellent canvas for a multi-elevation solar design.
We designed array modules for the three elevations that would provide good all-around generation aligned with the constant but relatively balanced energy consumption. A 200-panel proposal achieved our design criteria of 80kW of peak power performance. With there being minimal electrical consumption during non-viable generation hours, it was decided that battery storage wasn’t a ‘good value’ option at this stage.
